Tablet (NRN:A4-7566): Pseudoephedrine HCl 60 mg.

Pack size: A blister satchet of 10 Tablets.


Pseudoephedrine is a direct- and indirect-acting sympathomimetic agent with less pressor activity and central nervous system effects. It acts as an oral vasoconstrictor for nasal decongestion.


Pseudoephedrine is used for symptomatic relief from nasal stuffiness due to colds, from irritation and inflammation of the nose and throat due to hay fever.


In patients sensitive to Pseudoephedrine. Hypersensitivity to sympathomimetic amines; severe hypertension; coronary artery disease; MAOIs therapy; breast-feeding mothers.


Pseudoephedrine should be used with great caution in patients with hypertention, hyperthyroidism and enlargement of the prostate. Great care is also needed in pregnancy, breastfeeding and persons over 65 years of age.


Furazolidone, guanethidine, methyldopa: Increased BP.

MAOIs: Severe headache, hypertension and hyperpyrexia; can cause hypertensive crisis.

Urinary acidifiers (eg, ammonium chloride): Increased elimination of pseudoephedrine.

Urinary alkalinizers (eg, sodium bicarbonate): Decreased elimination of pseudoephedrine.

Adverse Effects

Occasionally dryness of the mouth, loss of appetite, restlessness, insomnia, acceleration of the pulse, palpitation.

Dosage & Administration

Adult and children over 12 years: 60 mg three to four times daily.

Children below 12 years: Not recommended

Store protected from light.
