Pharmacology

Betamethasone is a steroid.

Clotrtmazole is a broad spectrum synthetic antifungal agent having fungicidal action against all the fungi responsible for superfitial fungal infections of the skin. It is a synthetic imidazole derivative.

Neomycin Sulphate is an antibiotic having a broad spectrum of action and is very weIl tolerated when applied topically. Since Neomycin Sulphate is never used as a systemtc antibiotic, it is ideaIy sutable for topical use.

Indications

Tribact is indicated in the treatment of various inflammatory dermatologtcal disorders superadded with bacterial or superficial fungal infections of the skin.

Contra-indications

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Viral or tubercular infections of the skin.

Precautions/Warnings

To be used only under medical supervision.

For external use only.

Interactions

There may be an interaction between betamethasone/clotrimazole and other topical medications containing coticosteroids. Topical medications that have irritating effects.

Caution should be taken in concurrent or serial use of other neurotoxic and/or nephrotoxic drugs because of possible enhancement of the nephrotoxity and/or ototoxicity of neomycin.

Caution should also be taken in cucurrent or serial use of aminoglycoside and polymixins because they may potentiate neomycin sulfates, neuromuscular blocking effects.

Adverse Effects

Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, secondary infections, blisters, reddening, local edemas, stinging, urticaria, skin fissures and exceptionally

extensive skin irritation can sometimes develop.

Dosage & Administration

Tribact should be thinly and evenly applied to the affected area two or three times a day with a gentle rub.

Storage/Handling Recommendations

Store in a cool dry place. Store below 30oC.
