Vaginal tablet (NRN: A4-4431): Clotrimazole 100 mg Excipients s.q.f 1 vaginal tablet.

Imidazole derivatives or azole antifungal agents:

  • Fungistatic or fungicidal against many fungi, including yeasts and dermatophytes; active against some gram-positive bacteria.
  • Binds phospholipids in fungal cell membrane and alters cell membrane permeability. Cell membrane no longer functions as a selective barrier, and potassium and other cellular constituents are lost.
  • Active in vitro and in clinical infections caused by most strains of T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, E. floccosum, and M. canis. Less active against M. furfur (P. orbiculare), Aspergillus fumigatus, C. albicans. Also active in vitro against Sporothrix, Cryptococcus, Cephalosporium, and Fusarium.


Local treatment of vaginal candida and Trichomonas infection or other mycosis infection.

Vaginal infections due to sensitive bacteria.


Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or any ingredient of drug formulation.


Not for oral use.

  • The drug can reduce the effectiveness of condoms, contraceptive device for women. This effect are momentary and happen at the time of the treatment.
  • If there is no improvement in 3 days or if symptoms have not disappeared within 7 days, then consult a medical practitioner, as not all vaginal infections are caused by yeasts.
  • Consult a medical practitioner if you have abdominal pain, fever or a foul-smelling vaginal discharge before or during use of this medication.
  • If symptoms recur within 2 months, consult a medical practitioner.
  • Do not use in girls under 12 years of age, except on the advice of a medical practitioner.

Pregnancy and lactation:

During pregnancy, Clotival vaginal tablets should not be used with the applicator. Particular attention should be paid to hygienization of the birth canal during the last 4-6 weeks of pregnancy.

There are no known serious drug interactions for clotrimazole vaginal tablets. However, this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist.

Adverse Effects

Allergic reactions, itching, local inflammation.

Inform your doctor of any adverse drug reaction related to the use of this drug.

Dosage & Administration

Taken under the instruction of physician.

One tablet (1) per day, using constantly for 6-12 days. Or 2 tablets/day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

Put the tablet into water for 20-30 seconds, then put deeply into the vagina using applicator; stay lying in bed for 15 minutes approximately.

The best administration time is before going to bed.

Store in dry places, below 30°C, protect from light.
