Nystatin (oral) acts by binding to sterols in the cell membrane of susceptible Candida species with a resultant change in membrane permeability allowing leakage of intracellular components.

Nystatin exhibits no appreciable activity against bacteria, protozoa or viruses.


For local treatment of Vulvovaginal candidiasis (monoliasis).


Hypersensitivity to Nystatin or any component of the formulation.


Caution should be exercised in pregnancy and lactation.


No known interaction considered serious.

Adverse Effects

Nystatin is virtually non-toxic and non-sensitizing and is well tolerated by all age groups, even on prolonged administration.

Rarely, irritation or sensitization may occur.

Inform your doctor of any adverse reaction related to drug use.

Dosage & Administration

Taken under the instruction of physician.


1 tablet daily, for 2 weeks.

Put the tablet into water for 20-30 seconds, then put deeply into the vagina using applicator; stay lying in bed for 15 minutes approximately.

The best administration time is before going to bed.

Storage/Handling Recommendations

Store in dry place, below 30ºC, protect from light.

Shelf life: 36 months.
